Chapter 1 - In Honor of Friendship

While stationed on Earth at Starfleet Academy, Commander Spock, Admiral Kirk, Scotty and some of the original Enterprise's crew take time out from their busy schedule to attend the funeral of a former colleague who once served aboard the Enterprise. In the spirit of Human tradition, they spend the afternoon sharing and hearing stories of the life of this woman and her remarkable friendship with Varik of Vulcan. The depths of their friendship was rare, and through the course of the afternoon they find it was rarer than they originally believed.
