Description
Branca hates all the responsibility on her shoulders. She’s the heir to the throne, but that doesn’t mean she’s ready to marry some duke with entitlement issues that she’s only met once. And though it’s forbidden, she can’t help but use the noble magical power, the Essence, every now and then. Nor can she help it if somebody in her father’s court wants to kill her. Forced to use the Essence to save herself, Branca accidentally transports herself into a world left behind hundreds of years ago; a world where she is cast into the role of a servant girl in the middle of the Crusades. This doesn’t work out well for her, since she falls in love with the man she is supposed to be serving. Just when things can’t get any worse, Branca finds out that there’s a curse following her around, thanks to her great-great-great-grandmother. When a messenger arrives from Irenal, Branca must choose between returning to her time and saving her kingdom, or denouncing her former life and being with the man she loves.
