Scarlett has a difficult life to say the least, possibly the toughest of any of her friends. But with the help of the Matthews' and the Hunters, she manages to work her way through. Not to mention, the reminders that come in the mail that a better life is possibly out there for her makes getting up every morning just a little easier.

That, of course, doesn't change all the things that life is currently throwing​ her way. She has to stay afloat in order to get to that better life. But sometimes staying above the water just makes it easier for it all to go up in flames.
