Other than her name, there is nothing Chinese about Shuang Xiang. As a Chinese-American raised in America since a young age, and one of the core members of the International Mercenary group, Diehard, Shuang Xiang rarely has any connection with her Chinese heritage (the Chinese light novels being shoved into her face by her little sister doesn't count). Of course, that didn't stop the universe from shoving her detached soul into the body of a 16-year old girl who is known to be the good-for-nothing Seventh Miss of the Cheng family, the Prime Minister's household. After finding out about how the original owner is often bullied, wronged, and abused, and that her new so-called family is a bunch of snakes (no offense to snakes) disguised as golden geese, you would think that the protagonist would get revenge and take the world by storm, right? Shuang Xiang: "Fuck that. Are you asking me to stay with this bullshit kind of family just so that you can have the satisfaction of watching of me slap their faces?! Go read some other light novel then! I have better things to do than waste energy scheming against my relatives!" The straight-forward and carefree Shuang Xiang can't care less about her cold and blackhearted family-- all she wishes for, since having a second chance in life, is to live well, happy, and carefree.
