Skylar Tucker is a young woman looking to become a great chef. Andrew Garfield works in broadcast, picking up girls like they pick up shoes. Abigail Hertz, Skylar's best friend, and her husband, Nathan, set Skylar and Andrew up on a blind date that didn't end as either of them had hoped, so the two aren't fond of each other. But when Abigail and Nathan die in an unfortunate car accident, being the godparents, Skylar and Andrew are left in charge of raising Abigail ad Nathan's six-month-old daughter, Eva. As depressing and empty their lives feel after going through the struggles of parenthood, will Skylar and Andrew find that being a so-called family isn't as bad as they thought as long as they have each other?
