Grace Perne is a hard-working young woman with a lot of responsibility on her shoulders. Brought up by her father, a doctor, after the tragic death of her mother, she is determined to do good in the world.

Alexei Ivanov is determined to escape the life he is supposed to live. Brought up by the notorious Ivanov mafia residing in London, he thinks he has persuaded his father to change his ways...until suddenly a drop goes wrong, leaving the family business in Alex's hands.

When Grace and Alexei find each other, both of them desperate and lonely, something sparks between them that neither can ignore.

But will Alexei's role in the mafia tear them apart?
