When Avery had gone sailing with her car off of the side of the road, she had simply thought to herself: this isn't supposed to happen.

Avery was supposed to be starting her new life. She was supposed to be at her dad's house, 1,437.7 kilometers up north, where there would be no more Jane, no more Logan, and there certainly would be no more Connor.
