Katniss is sent to live with her Aunt Effie in District 12, where a slave boy called Peeta captures her attention and strikes her as something special. This is a world where women are the dominant gender and men are considered scum, only deemed useful for reproduction, slavery and pleasure. You can't socialize, be civil and-most importantly-fall in love with them. If these rules are broken there will be dire consequences.
