Dean never wanted to be a father, so when Castiel mentions children, he freaks out and bails. Fast forward and Dean is now the single father of a little girl and it is now time to go back and face his past. He knows that it is selfish of him to pull Castiel back into his life but he needs Castiel to know that he is a good father, or maybe he just needs Castiel.
