Laylanie Janelies Martinez, a born Puerto Rican girl living in the city with her parents and brother. She met Alex when they first moved into the apartment building. They hit it off great, they become best friends and almost inseparable. After her parents get taken away from her, Layla is forced to go back home to Puerto Rico to live with her aunt, but thankfully Schneider steps up to be her and Julio's foster dad. Layla becomes the happiest girl in the world, great friends, great family, well sorta. Her life at home is a mess, totally Bi-polar for her and her older brother Julio.
