*TRIGGER WARNING* this story contains self-harm and abuse. (the whole story starts in the middle of season 3, events in the story will not be the same as the series; it's sorta like an alternate reality, "what if?" kind of thing) Acre Hummel is Kurt's adoptive cousin. She's a sophmore, and coming from Australia (where Kurt's aunt lived) to live with Kurt and his dad because her "mom" (Kurts aunt) died and orphaned her for the second time in her life. She has severe dysthymia (a form of depression), anxiety, and minor paranioa (as in trust issues). Her issues come mostly from her late father, who abused her until he died of an accidental overdose of sleep medicine while drunk. Acre's mother had already commited suicide two years before. After a year of being in an orphanage, she was adopted by Kurt's relatively wealthy aunt. Her quality of life improved, but only a month later the 42 years young woman died in a motorcycle crash (as in she was ran over; she did own a motorcycle, but she wasn't driving it at the time). Her interesting name comes from Kurt's aunt because she had only been adressed to by her father as bitch, and as Hummel by teachers and students. Her "mom" came up with the name because her grandfather's name was Miles (I'm making this part up =P) and she wanted to name her after another distance.
