Diane Avery Neal, or Dan, is a quite far from average girl living in southwestern United States, 1864.

She strives to make sure that the reputation of her well known father-a cattle wrangler-doesn't die, along with him. In her small town, there aren't many cattle wranglers anymore after what happened to her father.

With that, she goes out with a group of ranchers on a cattle drive to prove to them that she most definitely is her father's daughter.
