In an alternate present, electricity was never fully cultivated, as another, far more powerful, type of power became common knowledge around the same time, that of Ether, previously known as 'Magic'.

Those capable of gathering this power are known officially as 'Ether-Weavers', or 'Etherial Conduits', and unofficially as 'Mages'. As it is the cornerstone of modern warfare, economy, and power production, these people are in the highest of demand, and of course in need of proper guidance by the best of their craft.

The countries that have been declared neutral are tasked with gathering and training these valuable assets for the warring states of the world... whether they like it or not.
