17 year old Livia Meyer's life changes abruptly on a fateful day in her summer vacation. Two months later she wakes up disorientated and alone in a hospital room without the most important person by her side: Her Mom. In spite of it all, after a long stay in the hospital, she is forced to move to her intimidating, wealthy father, who deserted his wife and daugther, when Livia was only 8 years old. There, she has to live with the naggaing question of why her father chose another woman and her daughter over his own flesh and blood. Livia has always believed that nobody except of one person would cherish the memory of her. Now that one person is gone, yet, she cannot just forget and get on with her life. Karen Meyer was the beacon in the dark abyss that helped her stand back up whenever she hit rock bottom. She helped her daughter reach for the moon in the darkness. Because she has always ever been amazing. Follow this young teenager's path of seeking forgiveness and acceptance in a new town, where Livia tries very hard to find a place she is able to call home some day. There her demons, she tries very hard to hide from, catch up to her sooner or later, pushing her to a point where she just wants to quit fighting all together. But this is not the story in which Livia gets defeated by the evil in this world. This is definitely not. With the help of people she learns to love, she will start to see the beauty in this world again.
