Darkwing the last female Night Fury, is the protector of an island, an island no-one knows exists,full of very special dragons, dragons of all species who want peace. They call her the Resilient Queen while she calls herself the Doomed Queen of the Night Furys. For only if she finds her mate can she continue the Night Fury species.

She is looking for her mate when she sees Toothless flying with a man on his back. She follows him to an island, she over hears him call it Berk. When she meets Toothless something unexpected happens.
