When was the last time the only awful home you've ever known burns down and nobody but you survived? Ten-year-old Tracy Netovedmil lost her parents at the age of three, her brother nearly died with the flu, and has to live in an orphanage in the middle of nowhere that makes her hunt and cook her own food. After that place burns down from one of the most deadly fires in Colorado ever, Tracy is stranded in a rainy woods with nothing to help her survive. But after she finds something, a mythical something, it brings her a glimmer of hope.
