Fred Weasley was gone. Sooner than people expected, sooner than he, himself expected. Or so they thought. It was a brief second mistake that George was mistaken as Fred and named dead. Fred, meanwhile, was too sad to admit he was not George. They thought Fred was gone anyway... So the secret was born and it was known only by a couple of people. However, even if George admired his brother's choice, even as a ghost he wasn't a man that said no to jokes.
