Agatha’s sister, Elizabeth, was only fourteen when she was murdered.

Elizabeth’s sinister death had drained the strength out of Agatha’s mother and Agatha had to stay with her sugarcoated grandmother and ill-tempered grandmother in Cheshire, England, until her mother could look after her again... if ever.
