Shawn and Aliza were in 4th, 5th, and 6th grade together. What are the odds? Shawn was simply desperate to seek popularity. So to achieve it, he made up a rumor about Aliza having a crush on him.Aliza didn't figure out about the rumor until 5th grade. Little did she know how big the rumor was. She never had feelings for him before she found out about the rumor. Why does it worked like this? That's what she asked herself through he story. And during that, Shawn questions if the reason he made up the rumor was because he really had feelings for her. When they get paired up in more classes, and more projects as they get older, they wonder if the odds want them to be together.
