Prologue

Abandoned as a child.
Raised by loan sharks.
And now, she was to die before sundown.

Underground debt-collector, Alene, finds herself being pushed out of the familiar world of schemes and illegal trade deals, and thrown into a world unknown to her: the world outside the confined walls of her Mother's lawless hierarchy.

Left to fend for herself, Alene must ultimately face her inner demons on her journey from a corrupt past and exploited childhood. And she must confront her biggest challenge yet: the real world.
