Despite my efforts to keep Jake and Phoenix from knowing of each other, it was finally time for the two of them to meet one-on-one. With an exhausting weekend hanging over my head and with parents who hated my choices, I felt my ability to make good decisions fade even more than it already had. I was caught between past and present relationships, and I finally gave in to temptation.
