After being cheated on by her ex, exacting revenge on him, and being harrased by the younger one of her bosses, Gwendolyn manages to get a new job with the help of her Best friend working for the fearsome Xavier Wells. He was cold, distant and had a mysterious past. He had always worn dark sunglasses, even when there was no sun. Xavier found himself lost, not knowing what to do, everytime he was with Gwendolyn or if he even thought about her. His dark past taught him that people couldn't love, it was just lust or too much to drink. Until her. Gwendolyn made him feel again. Though he warned her everytime that she must not fall for him.
