Chapter I

A magician accidentally disappears his wife, an actor troupe is cursed to eternally become their roles, and a man disguises himself as an aristocrat to get the girl. These are the stories that lie in between the folds of reality that most know. At the forefront, the Crimean war has torn apart countries and families, including Avalyn Gilden's. Avalyn is taken in by the generous by eccentric Thierry Closs, and is introduced to this in-between world. But she discovers although most of those who reside in the second world have beautiful abilities and fantastic stories, they still remain caged.
