Claire is a recently orphaned girl that was thrown into the streets of New York City. She disguises herself as a boy to join the newsies and support herself, but will she be able to keep her secret? And if her secret is found out, does love await her in Manhattan or Brooklyn? What will happen to her and the other newsies when the price of papers is increased?
