Every earnest sailor knows the lore: a woman aboard a ship brings ill luck to the whole voyage. But one woman's peril begins a miraculous journey; rather than drowning, she is reborn anew, taking on powerful new abilities and features to adapt to life among the Sirens of the deep. Rejected by those above the surface, these women roam the seas, exercising their terrible new power--the power of the Heartsong--to bend every creature to their will, and lure the hapless sailors to their deaths.
