"I'm sorry," he said without looking at me, then began to walk away. I opened my mouth, desperately wanting to tell him to stop, to stay here, to be with me, but no words came out. I grabbed his arm and he turned to look at me. His icy blue eyes pierced through my chest, leaving it tight and making it impossible to breath. He blinked, shrugged my arm off, and continued forward. I felt the hot sting of tears begin to prick at my eyes as I watched his silhouette slowly disappear from my view. I stood there long after he had gone, wishing him to come back to me, but he never did.

And he never would.
