I could never understand my friends,
why they loved you with no regrets.

I never imagined that I would love thee,
but somehow the story shifted to you and me.

It took just one glance,
and a never-again-seen chance.

A wishful and crescent-shaped smile,
a heart-tugging moment that lasted for a while.

Both struggling to get through the feelings,
we couldn't express without fearing.

Oh, how we suffered from anxiety,
yet being with you felt more like a dream than reality.

No matter how many times I said no,
you gave it your best effort to let me know,

that you wanted to be with me, and that was okay;
even when I was slowly fading away.

You crumpled my life,
with truth and lies.

You teared it all apart,
whilst breaking my heart.

You taped it all back together,
and I never understood why.

But unexpectedly, somehow,
we fell in love at first sight.
