Prologue

Avery Clark is trapped in a world of wondering. Wondering about her parents, about her future, about her missing brother. Her only consolation is her tiny purple notebook which she keeps hidden in a tree. Bennet Cristo is just trying to get through his mother's marriage with CEO Chris Hamilton, who is rich, famous, and also has a bratty daughter, leaving Ben to feel alone in a whirlwind of people.
