Description
*re-writing* 18 year old Amarante (Amara) never knew her parents. Amara and her twin brother Petr (Peter) were raised in an orphanage in the port city of Marseille, along the southern coast of France. Since the age of 10, she began to notice strange things happening in the 'Enfants du seigneur' children of the lord orphanage, that was run by the Good Sisters Convent 'Les bonnes soeurs couvent' It seemed only the boys were placed up for adoption, all apart from Petr - who nobody seemed to want because he was born deaf. Amara and Petr shared a close sibling bond and could communicate with their hands. The sisters thought it useful to keep her around. They remained as servants, and worked for food and lodgings. Amara started to realise that once the girls had reached the age of 16, they would disappear around the same time every year. There was never a warning or a good bye, they would leave during the night. The sisters would say that they found husbands and nothing more. Immediately afterwards a large deposit of gold would be made to Sister Mary Agnes. The year Amara and Petr turned 18, Petr developed a rare condition. The Sisters were advised to make preparations for his death. Heartbroken and desperate. Amara pleaded with Sister Mary Agnes, and begged for her help. Knowing that she had a substantial amount of wealth, and that she could afford to pay for a doctor. The cold hearted Sister offered her aid, on one condition. She forfeit her freedom as payment. In exchange for Petr's life, she was to be sold to the Lycan warriors, and forced to run the Labyrinth. Amara tearfully agrees to the terms, hell bent on returning back for Petr, and to see if the Sister had carried out her promise. Amara soon discovers an ally in an unlikely source, and learns that it is the monsters from the mainland who pose the greatest threat to herself and Petr. **being rewritten.
