High school junior Alex Carpenter believes her life is ruined. Everyone in her school hates her, her friends have abandoned her, and her reputation is destroyed, all at the hands of the boy she thought liked her. One night, one foolish mistake, and suddenly she is struggling to find a reason to keep going. At the insistence of her therapist and two remaining friends, Alex does a social media purge. Ridding herself of all connection to the negativity in her life, she attempts to find reason and a source of positivity from an area that has been filled with nothing but torment. This is how she meets Nathan, a boy who is the polar opposite of everything Alex knows. Positive, happy, and reassuring, he gives her the hope that not everyone is out to hurt her, and there might still be some genuine people left in the world.
