He extended his hand, waiting patiently for me to take it. When I looked into his eyes, I didn't see anger. Just admiration... and curiosity.

I hesitated, unsure. But then he smiled - soft, gentle - and something in me eased. I placed my hand in his, gasping as he pulled me into his lap once more.

"There," he murmured, brushing his fingers against my cheek. "Isn't that better? I'm still your Brian. You don't need to be afraid of me. I could never hurt you - that would be a betrayal of my love for you."

His touch was tender. His gaze held nothing but affection. Maybe he wasn't as terrifying as I thought.

"How are you, my beautiful mate?"

I started writing this story when I was really young - like, 14 or 15. I'm 26 now. So yes, the first few chapters are a little cringe (trust me, I know 😅), but it gets better! I've been editing and refining as much as I can, and I truly believe my writing has grown a lot.
