It's been seven years since the girls had graduated high school, and during those years each one found her own path in life, slowly drifting away from the Gold Coast.
Rikki, now a world known diver and a relic collector, promised three young mermaids she'd return to Mako again one day, and for the past year she tried making it happen, pulling all kinds of strings together.
Now the big day finally has arrived, after long years of being apart, the girls are back to Mako Island, and learn that a lot has changed, and that some things never will.
