Foreword

Whispersea is a hostile, barren place to live - the remnants of a dried-out ocean, now a wasteland - especially in winter, when the air grows frigid and the land inhospitable. It is only fitting that it is home to a tribe of people whose spirit cannot be crushed. Each year, they make the journey south to escape its cold embrace.

This year, the cold is the least of their worries.
