Ares Aella Verel, named after the God of War himself, treads dangerous water as the assassin is brought to the castle to witness The Choosing, a ceremony which decides the next Queen. The longer she stays at the castle, she tries to discover more about the magic that shows itself ever so often. Aella has to watch her every step, because, along with being destined to be the wife of a beautiful prince, she must also continue her career in the underworld for reasons unknown to her.
