"You don't happen to have a date for the Yule Ball, do you Rory?" Fred inquired with a mischevious grin, causing my train of thought to come to a sudden and crashing halt. I could feel my cheeks flush with embarrassment.

I had genuinely thought they were setting me up for some horrible prank...

"No," I managed to stutter out, still in a semi-shocked state. Fred's elbow leaves the desk and he leans back into his chair, seemingly satisfied with my answer.

"How would you feel about going with me?" George asked from my left, that sly smirk still ever present. "It'll be fun, I promise."
