She had a guy best friend.

He had a girl best friend.

They'd tell each other secrets.

Fall asleep on each other while a movie plays in the background.

Grab lunch after high school together.

For her, it was platonic.

For him, it was platonic.

Or so he thought.

He wanted to believe it was nothing. But he found himself missing her constantly, even though she lived only a few houses down.

Maybe she felt the same way as he did for her.

He became more nervous, dressing up more, wearing cologne. He became fidgety, blushing around her more often.

She was oblivious.
