In response, he glared up at me. "I should have my father fire you."
I shrugged my shoulders. "Okay, but right now your ankle is hurt. So how about you let me help you up and into the house, and then you can fire me later?"
I must have surprised him, because his eyebrows furrowed in confusion. I waited for the next argument, watching one side of his face scrunch up. Finally, he answered, "Fine."
