In a small and quiet village, much like any other, families who have debts to and can't afford to pay them off are forced to give up their first born child as collateral. The children are then given to either a werewolf, if the child is a boy, or to a vampire, if the child is a girl were they are made into slaves and treated as their master's see fit.

When Mckayla Macenzi Jhones' family can't pay one of their debts, their only option is to give up Mckayla to the auction where she is sold to the ever-so blood-thirsty vampire, Xiaver Blackthorn.
