It's surrounded by thousands of miles of land. Blackwater in a town located in America where civilization is nowhere near. Despite it being modern times, Blackwater is as old fashioned as the 1800's; no cars, or technology, just farmers, shopkeepers, and the church. Pastor Samuel is the pastor of the church and the mayor of the town. Everyone in Blackwater follows the church, they believe following the pastor and his ideologies is not just an option, but the only acceptable way of life. To the people of Blackwater, witches, demons, and anything supernatural is real to them, they'll believe anything the pastor claims is true. Lucille Sapienti was born and raised in Blackwater by her grandmother Giana. Giana has worked at the church for most of her life. Giana wanted Lucille to be innocent, and charming. Unfortunately for Lucille, her grandmother's wishes came true; she was the purest girl in Blackwater. So, when Giana dies unexpectedly from old age, Lucille promises to take her grandmother's place in working for the church. She expected nothing but an easy job of cleaning the building, and preparing it for the services held multiple times throughout the week. What Lucille didn't expect was taking over a job Pastor Samuel has hidden for twenty-one years, a job her very own grandmother, Giana, has took care of since it began. The task to take care of the demon in the basement.
