Author's note

This isn't a story for the lighthearted. You may have stumbled upon this wanting something a little dark, but with happiness and love tied alongside, battling a battle that love will always win. This is not that. This is a story about a girl who has her own battles she has to fight. Love is just a distant memory to her, not something she feels she can easily access. Then a man waltzes into her life, and for the first time in years, she finally sees a light inside the deep pit of agony she's in. Is it the shine of daylight at the end of the tunnel, waiting for her to end the struggle and live a happy life, or is it the flames licking around her searing skin as she screams out, being burned alive by her burdens?
