There is a world very similar to our own, except for one thing: the Nightbloods. Nightbloods are vicious, powerful creatures who have heightened senses and a strong, strange craving for the death of humans. Though they can be killed by ordinary weapons, they are incredibly fast and strong. They can smell and see almost anything close to them. Every child fears becoming a Nightblood, or being killed by their hands. Oh, yeah. One touch from a Nightblood kills an ordinary human. Only humans with the Nightblood gene are safe, yet eternally in danger. Nightbloods don't age. Nightbloods don't get sick. Nightbloods can turn any human with the gene into Nightbloods.
