Why?!

Richard was their gift. The one who would always be there for Michael's hoard of identities within his scattered brain. Michael knew that and he wanted to keep it that way for the rest of his life, but he knew that wouldn't happen. Their love was beautiful. The ending was tragic. Cut short of what Michael believed to be the only true hamartia within their story: their love.
