MJ hasn't had the best start to life, her dad died in a car crash which caused her brother to become paralyzed when she was 6, her mum turned onto drugs and alcohol and got a new boyfriend that abused her. She went into care when she was 8 with her little sister Charlie but was later split up after being moved from 16 care homes when she was 10. All MJ wants is her sister with her.
