Description
In this world there are all different types of smiles, ranging from real smiles that brighten up the whole face and reach the eyes, to fake smiles that hide an array of emotions, allowing people to see what they want to show. We use smiles as a way to tell someone that we are "okay". We use smiles instead of speaking as speaking gets too hard and that knot of tears in the back of your throat threatens to crack and pour out every thought you ever think so instead you smile. Telling that person your okay when really your not. I'ts okay to not be... This is a story about a girl who smiles, but it never reaches her eyes. Through the eyes of a seventeen year old high school student, we see how one feels when it hurts to feel. The journey in which one takes to get over broken hearts, false promises and the true reality of everyday life.
