When Amira, a Controller, gets paired up with Roman, a Holder, on her sixteenth birthday, she isn't too excited about it. Not only is he rude, egocentric, and conceited; he also has no idea what he is. Now she has to spend every waking moment making sure he doesn't get himself killed.
