"What are you doing?" His gravelly voice scared me. It didn't help I was already petrified. I trembled as I heard his steps get even closer, wondering how that was even possible. But it was. 20 feet became 10. And 10 feet became 5. "Why are you here?" My voice burned as I spoke. I had been screaming so much that it was left raw. "I saw...." His voice trailed off. Either thinking of how to put it or the words to say. I didn't want to have it acknowledged. " I saw what happen." His came out airy. As if he was talking out of his nose. "I can't." I started to sob, tears and snot and blood mixed together. Making a dark gooey liquid. I crotched to the ground and I wrapped my arms tightly around my legs, hiding my face behind my knees. Not that it made a difference. No one could see me. Not even Ryder. It was pitch black. I ran to the tunnel as soon as it happened. I didn't know what to do. So I did the only thing I thought was logical. But then he grabbed me. Throwing me away. How could he fucking ruin my only chance.
