A young 16 year old girl-Scarlett, is confused and frustrated at her mother for leaving her and her father on their small out of town farm. Christmas is coming up and it'll be the first Christmas without Scarlett's mother. When things seem to be going down hill, one of Scarlett's mares give birth to a gorgeous paint colt. This colt brings joy, trouble, and terror to Scarlett's new life. But then on Christmas Day, something goes terribly wrong in the barn. Will Scarlett ever be happy?
