A phrase Sirius Black was taught to value.

After hearing those words muttered constantly in his youth, he never once doubted his parents, hanging onto every last detail that left their mouths. Believing they were always right.

But starting Hogwarts changed him. Being sorted into Gryffindor changed him.

Toujours Pur.

Always Pure.

Maybe Sirius does agree with the Black family Motto.

Just not when it's referring to blood.
