Chapter 1

Emma always believed in love at first site but not for her. She was never the kind of person who loved somebody that instant. Ever since that horrible night when her Dad beat her while telling her she should just run away. She was planning to run away too, her and Matt (her boyfriend) had been planning it for months. And one random afternoon she was waiting at the bus stop where they first meet for Matt and he never showed up. Ever. Not at school, not at any of the football games or band rehearsals. No where to be found. After that she knew she couldn't trust anyone like she did with Matt. She was also afraid her Dad caught him and hid Matt somewhere to die. Then, one day she met Carter.
