Prologue

Since a strange incident in his childhood, John Bryant, a young shrimper living on the Georgia coast, has been haunted by nightmarish visions of the end of the world. What do they mean? Are they just products of a troubled subconscious, or glimpses of a possible future, borne of a gift of prophecy?
